Biden leaves Duque alone in the fight with Maduro

The double moral standards of US foreign policy are back and leaving millions of people around the world with no arguments. Tsar Vladimir Putin was once an ally of the United States when he sought Russia's accession to NATO. At that time he was not described as a dictator, but when he began to push for Russia's imperial resurgence and posed a threat to US imperial hegemony, his image as a political leader was demonised. The Americans began to oil the machinery of disinformation about Putin's negative characterisations.

Now the effects of the war in Ukraine and the double-edged economic sanctions against Russia, the world's third largest oil and gas producer, are shaking the world economy. For it is difficult in the short term for Europe to replace the 30 % of the oil and 40 % of the gas it imports from Russia, certainly the United States itself, with the 700,000 barrels of oil per day it imports from Russia.

The crisis unleashed by sanctions in Russia, the United States, Europe and the rest of the world over rising oil, gas and other commodity prices, as well as rising inflation rates, has the governments of Biden, Putin and the European leaders in dire straits.

The crisis has desperately forced Joe Biden's administration to turn around its relations with Iran's theocracy and Nicolás Maduro's Venezuelan regime because they need oil and gas from Caracas and Tehran.

On the one hand, they are accelerating the re-establishment of the Iran Nuclear Deal in order to secure oil and gas supplies from Iran. On the other hand, they are seeking diplomatic mechanisms to lift economic sanctions on the Venezuelan regime in order to be able to count on oil and gas supplies for their European allies. It is known that when the US imposed sanctions on Venezuela and suspended imports of Venezuelan crude oil, it agreed with Putin's government to import the missing Venezuelan oil from Russia. So now the theocracy of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei will go from being an enemy to an ally and cease to form part of the axis of evil, and Maduro's regime will cease to be a dictatorship and become a strategic ally.

And in the case of Colombia, President Iván Duque, ex-President Álvaro Uribe and his party are left alone in the fight against the Maduro regime, staring in amazement at the rooftops and with the wet powder of communism and castrochavismo on the eve of Sunday's elections. The United States does not have allied countries or enemy countries, but only economic and strategic interests.

In conclusion: the devastating and bloody war in Ukraine has definitely triggered a drastic change in economic and political power in the world with two blocs. The first, with the United States and Europe representing the old world order and resisting the loss of hegemony. The second, with Russia, China and India representing the new world order and struggling to position a new global hegemony.
