On the 114th day of the national uprising in Iran, the ruling mullahs' regime has desperately executed Mohammad Mehdi Karami and Seyed Mohammad Hosseini in the early hours of Saturday 7 January. The regime's judicial authority confirmed the hanging of the two arrested for participating in the ongoing nationwide uprising.

The semi-official Mizan news agency, affiliated to the regime's judiciary, said the two men were executed for killing a member of the regime's Basij paramilitary Basij and blocking the Karaj-Qazvin highway west of the capital Tehran. Amnesty International said the trials "bear no resemblance to a proper judicial process". There are numerous reports that both men were tortured to extract coerced confessions.

Last month, Maryam Rajavi, the leader of the Iranian Resistance, called on the United Nations, the UN Security Council, the European Union and member states to take effective and concrete measures against the religious fascism that rules Iran to put an end to the regime's massacres, torture and executions.

The regime authorities in the city of Bijar, in the western Iranian province of Kurdistan, have sent and deployed security units outside the home of Mohammad Mehdi Karami's parents. The authorities closed local shops and threatened traders. At least three people were abducted by the security units, according to reports from local activists.

In the Tehranpars district of the capital, demonstrators marched chanting, "For every person killed, a thousand more will rise up!", "Death to Khamenei! Damn Khomeini!"

In Tehran, residents of the capital's Andisheh district set fire to a poster of former IRGC Quds Force chief Qassem Soleimani, and in another part of the city, in broad daylight, they also set fire to another of his posters.

In Mashhad, in northeastern Iran, youths wrote slogans on the city walls, in the same place where Basij paramilitaries had erased earlier slogans: "Death to the tyrant, be it the Shah or the leader (Khamenei)".

On the anniversary of the downing of the Ukrainian plane, MEK supporters demonstrated in 12 European and American cities, including Washington DC, Paris, Gothenburg, Vienna, Cologne, Berlin, Munich, Oslo, Sydney, London, Heidelberg and The Hague, with the slogan "Death to the oppressor, be it the Shah or the leader (Khamenei)".
