The International University of Andalusia (UNIA) has promoted, from its Technological Headquarters in Malaga, the celebration in Morocco of the Training course in virtual and innovative teaching (Formation pour un enseignement innovant et virtual) - FEIV, directed by Manuel Cebrián, vice-rector of Teaching Innovation and Digitalization of the UNIA, and Arturo Chica, vice-rector of Internationalization of the UNIA.

The course has registered 120 enrolments, in an innovative programme aimed at the teaching community of the neighbouring country, which seeks to train students in key technical and methodological aspects of distance learning.

The vice-rector of Internationalisation of the UNIA affirms that the course is included "in the commitment of the University with the sustainable progress of its environment, with an international vocation and solidarity cooperation, especially with Latin America and the Maghreb".

Chica underlines that "the current management team of the UNIA wants to resume the contacts that already existed a decade ago with various universities and entities in Morocco and plan future actions and collaborations in the North African country with the main Moroccan Universities and Business Schools, as well as with the Spanish Embassy, the Cervantes Institute and other agents of Spanish cooperation in Morocco".

These statements corroborate the words of the Rector of the UNIA, José Ignacio García, at the 5th 'Study in Spain' Fair, held online from 9 to 11 February and aimed at promoting the Spanish university system and its international potential in Morocco. The Rector stated that "it is the intention of the new governing team of the International University of Andalusia to deepen this sum of wills, in the joint endeavour for Moroccan and Andalusian university students to increase their mutual knowledge, to qualify their relations in the fields of Science, Humanities, New Technologies, Culture; in short, to build together a better future for the peoples of both sides of the Mediterranean from our shared space of Higher Education".

During the course, topics such as the design of blended or virtual programmes, the organisation of synchronous web-conference sessions, models such as flipped classroom learning or gamification, as well as different evaluation techniques and tools will be studied.

To this end, it has the participation of experts such as Carlos Marcelo, Professor of Didactics at the University of Seville; María Sánchez, head of the #WebinarsUNIA programme; Alfredo Prieto, lecturer at the University of Alcalá; Dolores Zambrano, lecturer at the Casa Grande University (Ecuador); Mª Jesús Gallego, Professor of Educational Technology at the University of Granada, and David Puente, director of e-Learning Media.

The FEIV project is based on open learning network initiatives and other topics on teaching innovation of the UNIA, such as the #webinarsUNIA or the SPOC #Dienlínea.
