Unique in the audiovisual panorama, this project revolves around the great Spanish artists, filmmakers, writers, actors, architects, chefs and philosophers

Archivo de Creadores, the great documentary project on culture in Spain, is born

Archivo de Creadores has two aspects: on the one hand, documentary and archive, through 10-hour conversations produced by La Fábrica and the "la Caixa" Foundation, which will be available on the future digital platform of the "la Caixa" Foundation, CaixaForum+. On the other hand, the informative, with documentaries and 50-minute podcasts that will be released on Amazon Prime Video and Audible, respectively, and a collection of books that will bring together the conversations.

Juan Mari Arzak, Isabel Coixet, Alberto García-Alix, Antonio López, Antonio Muñoz Molina, RCR Arquitectes, Fernando Trueba and Patricia Urquiola participate in the first season.

Archivo de Creadores will collect over several years the legacy of our 100 leading creators from all fields. Great figures - whether born in Spain or not - who have become beacons of talent that will project Spanish culture around the world for decades to come.

What social and historical value would it have today to have a long interview with Pablo Picasso in which he would describe his convictions, his inspirations, his thoughts, his references, his vision of the human being or of the world? Or with Luis Buñuel? Or with Antoni Gaudí? Or with Federico García Lorca?

This question sums up the spirit of Archivo de Creadores, a project created to preserve and transmit the legacy of the most valuable people in Spanish culture in all its fields: visual artists, filmmakers, writers, actors, architects, chefs, musicians, philosophers, stage directors...

Over the course of several years, the aim is to compile a complete documentary archive of a hundred or so personalities that will allow us to get to know them better today, and at the same time preserve for future generations the legacy of these leading voices on the Spanish cultural scene in the first half of the 21st century. A firm commitment to the preservation and dissemination of the wealth of Spanish culture.

An archive and documentary project

Archivo de Creadores will have several formats that aim to respond to the most diverse audiences.

On the one hand, it includes complete 10-hour conversations with each of the authors, in-depth testimonies that will be premiered on CaixaForum+, the future digital platform of the "la Caixa" Foundation, and which can also be enjoyed in sessions that will be programmed at the institution's CaixaForum centres.

In addition, the general public will be able to get to know the protagonists in 50-minute documentaries and podcasts that will be released, from 3 December, on Amazon Prime Video and Audible. The written memory of all of them will be collected in a collection of books, published by La Fábrica.

Arzak, Coixet, García-Alix, Antonio López, Muñoz Molina, RCR Arquitectes, Fernando Trueba and Patricia Urquiola

They are the protagonists of the first issue of Archivo de Creadores. With their words and images, they become the narrators of their own documentary. Intense monologues in which each creator confesses to the camera, from their studio, in their home, their landscape... The value is the word and the setting is part of their biography. His in-depth testimony will be his legacy.

The writer, winner of the National Narrative Prize, Antonio Muñoz Molina; the painter and sculptor, master of hyperrealism, Antonio López; Isabel Coixet, one of our most international filmmakers Juan Mari Arzak, 3 Michelin Star chef and one of the leading exponents of the new Basque cuisine; the designer Patricia Urquiola, one of the Spanish figures with the greatest international projection in the world of design; the photographer Alberto García-Alix, winner of the National Photography Award and one of the most forceful authors of contemporary Spanish photography; the architects of RCR, a studio recognised with the Pritzker Prize; the filmmaker Fernando Trueba, winner of an Oscar for Belle Epoque, are the creators taking part in the first season. All of them will talk to us about their ideas, memories, training, their creative universe and their work.

Archivo de Creadores opens the doors to the creative and personal universe of these authors, in a sincere exercise of great generosity on the part of all of them. A treasure for our time, but above all for the future.
