The Saharawi Association for the Defence of Human Rights (ASADEDH) has issued an official statement in which it denounced that Mohamed Luali Akik, Chief of the General Staff of the Polisario Front, incited Saharawi youth to carry out commando attacks in the region.

The press release of ASADEDH is reproduced below:

The Saharawi Association for the Defence of Human Rights (ASADEDH) both denounces and strongly condemns the latest alarming statement of the Polisario Chief of Staff, Mohamed Luali Akik, coinciding with the anniversary of 20 May.

Brahim Ghali

This statement is a clear incitement to the Saharawi youth to commit commando attacks in our cities.

With this serious and alarming statement, the primary objective of the Polisario leadership is to foster a climate of hatred and instability among the population of our Region.

We also consider in this association that this statement is a clear apology for committing acts catalogued by the community as terrorist acts; therefore, we show our utmost repulsion to the inexplicable and irresponsible decision of the Polisario leadership in the middle of 2022.

This statement should be taken very seriously by the International Community and its bodies, knowing the background of this Polisario leader, condemned in Spain in 1975 for sabotage with explosives against the phosphate conveyor belt.
