CAF promotes child nutrition and the reactivation of Latin America with 1.345 billion dollars
CAF -development bank of Latin America- reaffirms its commitment to be an unconditional ally for its member countries in addressing the effects of the pandemic and the reactivation of the region with new credit operations for a total of 1,345 million dollars approved at the CLXXII session of its Board of Directors held semi-attendance in Mexico City.
"The approved operations are aimed at reducing chronic child malnutrition; strengthening food security for the most vulnerable; improving access and quality to water and sanitation as part of our strategy to accompany governments in their plans to ensure the well-being of Latin Americans. We also support initiatives in transport and digital transformation of the State to boost the economic reactivation of the region," said Renny López, CAF's Interim Executive President.
The following loans were approved at the CLXXI Board of Directors meeting:
- More than 4 million Argentines will benefit from CAF credits for 645 million in nutrition, water and roads.
- CAF will lend 500 million dollars to Colombia to accelerate the digital transformation of the State.
- 200 million dollars to reduce chronic child malnutrition in Ecuador.
