The CaixaForum and CosmoCaixa network hosts its most extensive and disruptive season with 40 proposals
The Deputy Director General of the "la Caixa" Foundation, Elisa Durán, and the Corporate Director of the Culture and Science Area of the "la Caixa" Foundation, Ignasi Miró, presented the institution's cultural programme for the 2021- 2022 season. The event was also attended by the corporate director of Education and Marketing, Xavier Bertolín, and by the directors of the eight CaixaForum centres, as well as the director of CosmoCaixa.
The "la Caixa" Foundation announced the 31 exhibitions that can be seen in the most important network of private cultural centres in Spain and the 9 itinerant projects that the institution will take throughout Spain and Portugal.
The CaixaForum and CosmoCaixa network is a unique model for disseminating knowledge, culture and science as the driving force behind society's progress. The new season will run under the slogan 'We believe in culture. We grow in culture', with the aim of offering the public windows that allow them to look into the past, live in the present and also face the future. Convinced that culture allows extraordinary experiences to be lived and to recover enthusiasm after difficult times, the "la Caixa" Foundation presents its most ambitious season, with 31 exhibitions in the CaixaForum and CosmoCaixa network, 4,000 activities and 9 exhibitions that will travel to more than 80 cities in Spain and Portugal. All of them will become a place for meeting, learning, dialogue and enjoyment, in short, a space to believe and grow.
Elisa Durán, Deputy Director General of the "la Caixa" Foundation, summarises the new programme as follows: "We are pleased to offer, in the midst of the uncertain times in which we are immersed, an exhibition season marked by innovation and major themes that bring together past, present and future. This is our most extensive season, which this year will run under the slogan 'We believe in culture. We grow in culture'. With it, we want to offer the public extraordinary and disruptive experiences. We want to contribute to recover the illusion and invite reflection to rethink the future from a perspective that combines culture and scientific dissemination in a transversal way. In addition, the 2021-2022 season will mean the definitive incorporation of the digital sphere, to offer our visitors an expanded and hybrid experience that allows them to approach culture both in person and virtually, without sacrificing the quality of content and taking advantage of the opportunities offered by this channel".
In line with the programming of recent years, the "la Caixa" Foundation continues to work on culture and scientific dissemination in a transversal and complementary way. Thus, CaixaForum and CosmoCaixa are joining forces in the same network and will bring together exhibitions that can be seen in different parts of the country.
