"De cara al mundo", the programme on Onda Madrid directed and presented by Javier Fernández Arribas, director of Atalayar, takes an in-depth look at current international affairs.

The programme will deal with the NATO summit held in Madrid at which the Alliance's new Strategic Concept was approved and at which the green light was also given to the entry of Sweden and Finland, which requested NATO membership in the face of the palpable threat from Russia following the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

The NATO meeting also considered China as a threat to the Alliance for the first time and focused attention on issues such as protecting the Alliance's southern flank, addressing hybrid threats, climate change and technological innovation.

The framework of the Atlantic Alliance summit also served as a promotional tool for Spain, which played an important role in organising the event and which provided a number of attractive venues for other events parallel to the summit itself.

To analyse these issues, Carmen Romero, Deputy Assistant Secretary General of NATO's Public Diplomacy Department, Gustavo de Arístegui, a Spanish diplomat, and international expert and analyst Lucas Martín will take to the microphones.

As every Friday, the discussion will be led by regular Atalayar contributors Claudia Luna, Pedro González and José María Peredo, coordinated by Javier Fernández Arribas.

"De cara al mundo", Friday 1 July from 22:05 to 23:00.
