The United Arab Emirates is one of the countries with many advances in technology and innovation, and this has been demonstrated by the company BARQ EV, which has just broken two world records and, in turn, has just entered the official Guinness record list. Specifically, this company is dedicated to the delivery service of orders, with the speciality that these are made through drones. Therefore, the firm has entered the record book for having made the longest flight of one of these devices. Specifically, the machine made a delivery service of 13,584 kilometres, and a non-stop return flight of 18,065 kilometres. This makes it the longest trip ever made by a drone, and puts Emirates in the spotlight of this type of market.

BARQ EV became the first delivery service provider to use drones to accomplish its goal and is the first to be licensed in the UAE. The company’s founders, Ahmad al-Mazrui and Abdullah Abu Sheikh issued a statement in which they expressed their delight at the development. "We are at a very early stage of the company and we have already broken two Guinness World Records. It is a very proud moment for all of us. This achievement is a testament to our readiness to empower drone delivery service in the country."

In addition, the two entrepreneurs have stated that a new global trend is being created in the development of different avenues in the transport and logistics industry. During this past year, several countries have already put their focus on these developments and this industry has become the fourth most funded industry in the MENA region, with a 122% increase, highlighting that these companies are mainly based in countries such as the United Arab Emirates and Egypt. "BARQ EV is expected to achieve remarkable success due to its unique services," added the brand presidents.

BARQ EV's success and triumph can be said to be due to Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed bin Rashid  al-Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Dubai Future Foundation. As an innovator in the sector, he has always been committed to new technologies and modern methods, and has enabled drone transport in the region. With this, the prince has always tried to improve the quality of life of the people who live in the area, as well as always looking to the future and betting on greener and more ecological energies, since the use of drones greatly reduces carbon emissions and thus facilitates the movement of goods and materials. The intention is to position Dubai as one of the most advanced and intelligent cities in the world.

The United Arab Emirates is experiencing significant technological growth worldwide and is making its mark in this type of sector. One of its main objectives is to make the transport and logistics industry more and more sustainable, and to this end, more environmentally friendly projects are being implemented. A few months ago, based on new green opportunities, the first industrial-scale, solar-powered green hydrogen project in the country was inaugurated.
