The European University and the Spanish Atlantic Association have created the Chair of Euro-Atlantic Security Culture. This initiative, in which the Institute of Strategic Studies collaborates in the dissemination of results, was created with the aim of transferring to civil society, companies, education and university sectors, reflections, frameworks of reference and proposals for debate that contribute to the strengthening of security and the promotion of agreements and environments of peace and negotiation. It also aims to gather, produce and transfer knowledge on a range of issues related to security, defence and cooperation relations between states and within organisations such as NATO and the European Union.

In the words of Francisco García Pascual, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Communication at the European University, "this Chair was created as an instrument for analysing possible ways of cooperation and construction in a changing global environment of immense complexity in international relations, marked by the enormous uncertainty currently generated by the economy, inflation, the energy crisis, the effects of climate change and the war in Ukraine. In this context, we at the European University consider it essential for students to participate in spaces where they can build channels for reflection and contribute conclusions of interest in each case".

For his part, Adolfo Menéndez, President of the Spanish Atlantic Association, stressed that "from this association we contribute all our capacity and experience in the security and defence sectors for the design and implementation of courses and seminars. The Chair of Euro-Atlantic Security Culture is aimed at students of International Relations, Journalism, Law, International Business and other areas who are interested in events concerning the Euro-Atlantic area".
