The Three Cultures Foundation and the Essaouira Mogador Association are organising the 18th edition of the Festival of Atlantic Andalusias in the Moroccan city of Essaouira, which will be held from 27 to 30 November 2022 in the Moroccan city of Essaouira.

Throughout the history of the Festival of Atlantic Andalusias, musicians and artists from different parts of the Mediterranean have come together to celebrate the Judeo-Arabic heritage of their music, the link between the music of Al Andalus and Andalusian flamenco today.

In this edition it will be the Ballet Flamenco de Andalucía led by Úrsula López, choreographer and artistic director of the Ballet, who will bring the essence of flamenco art to the Essaouira stage with the performance in the opening gala of the fragment of the show 'Naturally Flamenco' and the ensemble with the Andalusian Orchestra of Omar Metioui, a proposal that will highlight this link between Andalusian music and flamenco.

And as an expression of the most deeply rooted flamenco heritage, the Ballet Flamenco de Andalucía will perform on the day after the opening the show 'Tríptico' in which the disciplines of flamenco, stylised dance and bolero dance form a harmonious whole, the result of a profound creative process, and of a process of thought and meditation inspired by the great figure in the history of flamenco dance, Antonio el Bailarín.

Andalusian Flamenco Ballet

The Ballet Flamenco de Andalucía is the highest institutional representative of the arte jondo, acting as an ambassador of flamenco since its creation in 1994, more than 25 years ago. During this time, the Ballet has become the best way to open new markets for flamenco, has performed on stages all over the world, has been part of the cultural agendas of countries such as the United States, Argentina, Cuba, France, Italy, Hungary, Switzerland and Mexico and has been present at international events such as the Aichi Exhibition in Japan or at major festivals such as those in New York and London.

Since its beginnings, it has been an inexhaustible source of talent and is today a benchmark company whose productions have made an impact on national and international audiences, fostering a growing interest in flamenco all over the world.
