The fans are disillusioned. The squad is dwindling in first-team players, no signings are arriving and the players who should be leaving the club are not leaving

Florentino and the disillusionment of the madridistas

Since the announcement two months ago of the signing of Alaba from Bayer Munich, the only news coming out of the club has been the departure of undisputed first-team regulars who played a major role in the club's four Champions League triumphs during the club's heyday.

Captain Sergio Ramos left the club after 16 years and in recent days it has been Raphael Varane after 10 years, the latter quietly and in a rather more stately manner than Sergio Ramos. He is leaving to earn more on his latest contract to Manchester United, who are building a super team.

Meanwhile, at the Bernabeu we continue with Hazard, who is not getting off to a good start and there are doubts as to whether he will ever get off to a good start. The Belgian will never recover his best level. The proof is in the EURO. His age and his more than dubious professionalism have meant that from being a possible successor to Cristiano or Messi, he has become a vulgar player, far from being valued at the 130 million that Real Madrid paid.

Bale is dedicated to golf and when he has tried to return to his best level in the EURO we have seen that it is no longer possible. Mariano is a player who in my opinion would currently have serious difficulties to be a starter in Castilla.

Ceballos doesn't want Arsenal to keep him. At Betis he would probably be the star, but Real Madrid is another matter. Odriozola has had many opportunities and he is not a full-back for Real Madrid, Lucas Vázquez and Carvajal are way ahead of him.

It's almost embarrassing to talk about Isco. He has to leave Real Madrid now because he doesn't give the physical or playing level. Not even a shadow of his former self, he doesn't give the passes between the lines that he used to. A lot of touching the ball and slowing down the game.

Asensio is the eternal promise. Since his injury he has not been the same. In the Olympics he is not contributing much. Jovic didn't touch the ball for 45 minutes against Glasgow Rangers, continuing his pattern of going unnoticed match after match. Vallejo only serves to block the progression of the youngsters of Castilla, he never ends up exploding.

Florentino's biggest supporters are still hoping that on 30 August the announcement of the signing of Kylian Mbappé or, as a lesser evil, Erling Haaland will appear on the news. It is complicated but the Madrid boss seems to have everything under control.

Paris Saint Germain are building another super team with Ramos, Achraf, Wijnaldun and Donnarumma among others.

This may be because he is clear about Mbappé's departure or because he wants to put the best team next to Neymar and Kylian.

Al-Khelaïfi's communication department released a few days ago a statement by Mbappé saying that he wanted to win the Champions League in Paris. What they forgot to mention is that these statements were made many months ago.

Everything suggests that Florentino needs to make money in order to be ready to pay out the more than 100 million euros that Mbappé would cost and in the worst case scenario, the 160 or 180 million that he would be forced to pay for Haaland. This in the event that PSG do not give in and the French player has to stay for another year with the pressures and the atmosphere that the Paris Saint-Germain leader is creating against him.

Anything less than bringing in one of the two stars would be seen by madridismo as a failure by Florentino and a very disappointing season. This year there will be members in the stands of the Santiago Bernabéu stadium.

If Carletto has to rely on a number of players who have the Merengues fans very tired, I can't imagine the boos that Marcelo, Isco, Hazard and Gareth Bale would get. It would be a scandal unless the team played brilliant football and won every game.

It is difficult for this to happen and if it doesn't, Ancelotti would be the first to leave and Florentino would probably not be able to withstand the pressure from the madridistas.

The madridista fans have been sympathetic, there has been a pandemic, we are in a major economic crisis but the truth is that two years before the president did not sign anyone and the memory of the last signings, Jovic and Hazard are a total failure. Almost 200 million thrown away. Every day that passes his price devalues.

Despite everything the starting team could be top level with Courtois, Carvajal, Mendy, Alaba, Militao, Kross, Casimiro, Modric, Benzema and two more who should be Mbappé and Haaland.

These along with Lunin, Nacho, Marcelo, Lucas Vázquez, Chust, Miguel Gutiérrez, Odegaard, Valverde, Blanco, Vinicius, Rodrigo and Kubo would complete a good squad. With a starting eleven of the best in the world.

It must be borne in mind that this year there has been the America's Cup, the European Nations Cup and the Olympic Games. The backbone of the Real Madrid team is of advanced age, although they are magnificent professionals. Just looking at the photos of Luka Modric is striking and has nothing to do with some of the team-mates we don't want to make too much of. This accumulation of games will be noticed.

It could be a very complicated year of transition, madridismo needs to get their hopes up with a world class player. The ideal is Kylian Mbappé and the one that Florentino has been selling through like-minded journalists. Relax!

In the worst case scenario, if the arrival of Kylian Mbappé is not possible, Haaland would arrive, but if none of them do, it would be a tremendous disappointment and we would have a very long season.

The departure of players seems fundamental. The fans would not look favourably on the inclusion of the aforementioned players in the squad. They have tired the madridistas, especially Bale, Isco, Hazard, Jovic and Mariano.

Maybe Marcelo and Asensio still have some credibility, but the rest should leave the squad because the Madrid fans will boo them at the first ball they miss or in the case of Jovic when he is substituted, as he is not involved in the game for better or worse.

It is very difficult to find a way out of them because of the high salary they receive and the little interest they arouse because of their poor performance.

In short, Florentino's main task is to sign Kylián Mbappé. If that is not possible this year, Erling Haaland (180 M) should be brought in. We have to find a destination for players that the fans can no longer stand. Two of the three objectives will be essential for Real Madrid fans not to become disillusioned.
