Dubai residents and international visitors alike can 'travel' around the world at Dubai World Expo 2020, celebrating their global journey with a special passport as they explore the more than 200 participating pavilions.

The passport will encourage visitors to see as many pavilions as possible during the 182-day event, while allowing them to look back and relive the memories of their experiences after their visit.

Since its introduction at the 1967 World Expo in Montreal, the passport has become one of the most popular Expo souvenirs for visitors who want to keep track of all the different international pavilions they visit by collecting pavilion stamps as souvenirs.

The Expo 2020 version is inspired by the heritage of the UAE, linking the past with the present. In the form of an official passport, the 50-page brochure contains designs and images of the three themed pavilions (Mission Possible - The Opportunity Pavilion, Alif - The Mobility Pavilion and Terra - The Sustainability Pavilion), as well as Al-Wasl Plaza - the jewel in the crown of the Expo Dubai 2020 site, plus other Dubai landmarks, such as the iconic city skyline and other UAE-related elements.

The customisable yellow passport also comes with its own enhanced security features: a unique number, an area to include a passport-sized photo, personal details and hidden watermark images on each of its pages, ensuring that no two documents are the same.

With the UAE currently celebrating its Golden Jubilee year, the passport pays tribute to the nation's Founding Father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan al-Nahyan, with a special page embossed in gold foil and a photograph dating back to 1971, when the UAE celebrated the birth of the nation. On 2 December, visitors to the Expo will also receive an exclusive stamp commemorating the UAE's 50th anniversary.

Priced at 20 Emirati dirhams, the Expo 2020 Dubai passport is available for purchase at all official World Expo shops located at the World Expo site, the Expo 2020 Dubai shop located in Terminal 3 of Dubai Airports and on the expo2020dubai.com/onlinestore website.

From 1 October 2021 to 31 March 2022, Dubai World Expo 2020 will unite more than 200 participants, including 191 countries, as well as businesses, multilateral organisations, and educational institutions. The most diverse World Expo in history will invite millions of visitors from around the globe to join in the creation of a new world during a six-month celebration of human ingenuity, innovation, progress, and culture.
