Jardines históricos de las dos orillas: expresión cultural compartida de Al-Ándalus a Marrakech

The Cervantes Institute of Marrakech and the Cadi Ayyad University are organising the conference: "Historic gardens of the two shores. Shared cultural expression from Al-Andalus to Marrakech", on Friday 11 November 2022 at 5 p.m., at La Cité des Langues et des Cultures of the Cadi Ayyad University of Marrakech. 
 
This activity is part of the Visages 2022 programme of the Spanish Ministry of Culture and Sport, and will be attended by speakers from Spain and Morocco: Inés Eléxpuru, from the Islamic Culture Foundation (FUNCI), José Miguel Puerta Vilchez from the University of Granada, Nour Eddine Nachouane and Ahmed Ouhammou from the Cadi Ayyad University of Marrakech, as well as Elie Mouyel, architect from Marrakech and Hamid Triki, historian from Marrakech. 
 
In all civilisations, the garden has been one of the most elaborate expressions of cultural evolution and refinement. The many elements that make up the garden are the result of a rich dialogue over time between nature and architecture. In both Marrakesh and Al-Andalus, the garden has been linked to residential architecture, be it palaces, reflecting political and military power, or great houses. The aim of this activity, which is the result of a partnership between the Université Cadi Ayyad Marrakech and the Instituto Cervantes in Marrakech, is to highlight this shared cultural expression.

- "The Andalusian garden and the Arab house". Elie Mouyel, architect.
- "The gardens of Marrakech: reservoir of remarkable plants and places of exchange and openness". Ahmed Ouhammou.  Cadi Ayyad University of Marrakech.
