The "la Caixa" Foundation's Incorpora work integration programme provided 41,482 jobs for people in vulnerable situations in 2021. This was possible thanks to the collaboration of 14,532 companies in this social responsibility project.

Of the total number of placements, 2,766 were for people with mental and emotional health problems. In a year in which this type of disorder has increased in a worrying way, in addition to reinforcing labour integration and the accompaniment of people affected, the programme has promoted training and practical sessions for technicians to identify and deal effectively with mental and emotional problems in the insertion processes. In total, 6,498 people have been assisted.

"This year our focus on mental health has been more significant than ever, promoting employment opportunities for people with psychological disorders and creating tools and resources for professionals in the Incorpora Network with the aim of improving care and support for people who need it", said the Chairman of the "la Caixa" Foundation, Isidro Fainé.

In the pandemic context, the Incorpora programme has accompanied 6,498 people with mental and emotional health problems, 2,766 of whom have found work.

Incorpora has also adapted to the needs that have arisen in the context of the pandemic, above all in the social and healthcare sector, cleaning, logistics and commerce, building bridges with companies and offering training actions that prepare job seekers for essential jobs. Of the 41,482 job placements, 22,527 were women and 18,955 were men. In addition, 9,909 were people with disabilities, and 31,573 were people at risk of exclusion or in a situation of exclusion.

Likewise, 38,131 of the new hires were made in Spain and 3,351 abroad, as the programme is also being implemented in Portugal, Morocco, Poland and Hungary.

The Incorpora programme, launched in 2006, aims to make people agents of their own change in order to get out of difficult situations, and does so through employment as a form of social integration. To this end, it builds bridges between companies and around 500 social organisations that carry out the programme and with which "la Caixa" Foundation has just renewed its collaboration agreements for the sixteenth consecutive year.

In 2021, the entities intensified their work to respond to the new needs that have arisen. The programme's network of more than 1,200 technicians, who offer personalised attention and continuous monitoring to participants before, during and after they are hired.

The tasks carried out by the job placement technicians include prospecting for companies, monitoring the beneficiary's training process, accompanying those who have been placed in employment, advising the hiring companies to facilitate the adjustment of people to the characteristics of the position and encouraging the collaboration of new companies in the programme.

In addition, since 2016, Incorpora has been carrying out a line of self-employment thanks to which people at risk of social exclusion are participating in a new way of integrating into the labour market. People with an entrepreneurial attitude and capacity can develop a business plan to create their own company, supported by a personalised itinerary, with training and support provided by the programme through 47 Incorpora Self-Employment Points throughout Spain.

Thanks to this initiative, in 2021 Incorpora assisted 3,519 people interested in starting a business and facilitated the creation of 1,586 new microenterprises.
