The International University of Andalusia (UNIA) is participating in the 7th edition of the Study in Spain Fair, which opened in the Moroccan city of Casablanca, and will continue until 9 February, with activities in Rabat and Tetouan. The Vice-Rector for Internationalisation, Arturo Chica, is representing the UNIA at this international meeting, whose aim is to publicise the academic offer of Spanish universities. The UNIA has 60 Moroccan students, who are studying different postgraduate courses in the current academic year.

This fair is aimed both at those interested in studying in Spain and at Spanish and Moroccan universities and institutions wishing to explore opportunities for academic and scientific cooperation. A total of 21 universities, including almost all Andalusian public universities, and three Spanish institutions are participating in this edition

Among the objectives of this forum is to promote the internationalisation of the Spanish University System in order to offer Moroccan students a wide range of opportunities for higher education and to encourage mobility between Spain and Morocco. Also, to allow these students to prepare themselves in the Spanish university, to assume an active role in the future development of economic and social relations between Spain and Morocco.

In addition, it aims to contribute to the development of scientific, cultural and economic relations between the two countries; to strengthen the mutual knowledge of the institutions, and to create or consolidate links between Spanish and Moroccan universities.

The Spanish Service for the Internationalisation of Education (SEPIE), a public body attached to the Ministry of Universities in charge of the international projection of Spanish universities, and the Department of Education of the Spanish Embassy in Morocco are sponsoring this forum. The company Orientation Carrefour is the organiser of the fair, with the collaboration of the Juan Ramón Jiménez Spanish Institute, the Nuestra Señora del Pilar Spanish Institute and the Cervantes Institute.
