The King and Queen of Spain will visit the Cervantes Institute in Frankfurt (Germany) next Wednesday, which will host the session "Homage to German Hispanism", chaired by Doña Letizia. Don Felipe will join the end of this academic meeting between German Hispanists and teachers of Spanish in that country. This event will conclude the official trip that the King and Queen of Spain are making to Germany on the occasion of the 2022 Book Fair, which opens tomorrow in Frankfurt and which has Spain as its Guest of Honour.

The "Homage to German Hispanism" will begin on 19 October at 13:30 with a greeting from the director of the institution, Luis García Montero. This will be followed by the round table, moderated by the veteran Dieter Ingenschay (1948), Professor Emeritus of Hispanic Literatures at the Humboldt University of Berlin.

Hispanists Danae Gallo González, Marco García García, Lena Hein, Marília Déa Jöhnk and Victoria del Valle will discuss the situation of Spanish culture and language in Berlin, where Cervantes has a total of five centres: Berlin, Bremen, Frankfurt, Hamburg and Munich.

At the end of this academic meeting with scholars of Spanish culture, the King and Queen will sign the Cervantes Institute's Book of Honour and hold an informal meeting with the participants in the session.

The event can be followed live on the Instituto Cervantes' Directo1 and YouTube channels.
