El rey Mohamed VI traslada el pésame por el fallecimiento de Abdelhadi Baraka, decano de los chorfas de alamiyin

The King of Morocco, Mohamed VI, has sent on Sunday a message of condolences to the family of the late Abdelhadi Baraka, dean of the Alamiyin Chorfas, followers of the El Machichiya Chadiliya School. "He was faithful to his religion and his homeland in the various missions he undertook," the monarch stressed after learning of his death.

"Following this cruel loss, the King expresses his deep condolences and sincere feelings of sympathy to the children of the deceased, Nabila, Lamiae, Nabil and Adnane, to the Baraka family, to all the Alamiyin Chorfas and to the friends and admirers of the deceased," reads the statement issued by the Royal Court of Morocco.

Mohamed VI "recalled with esteem the unfailing attachment of the deceased to the Person of HM the King and to the Glorious Alaouite Throne, as well as his great qualities and his sincere patriotism" and "implored the Most High to surround with his mercy the saintly Moulay Abdeslam Ben Mchich, whose mausoleum is very popular with followers and visitors from different regions of the Kingdom". A native of northern Morocco, Ben Mchich is the founder of the Chadiliya School or Tariqa, and is believed to be a descendant of the Prophet Muhammad.

"The Sovereign prays God, in these blessed days, to surround the late Abdelhadi Baraka with His mercy, to reward him amply for the services he rendered and for his good deeds in the service of his religion and his homeland," the note concludes.
