Egyptian striker Mohamed Salah is the star of English club Liverpool FC, the reigning champions of the prestigious European Champions League, and one of the icons of world football in terms of both performance and image.

The Egyptian international has seen his efficiency increase dramatically since he joined the 'reds' and this has been accompanied by an exponential growth in his earnings and the money generated around him. Mohamed Salah has become one of the footballing phenomena of the moment having arrived at the Anfield Road team, after a somewhat more discreet move to clubs such as FC Basel, Chelsea FC, AFC Fiorentina and AS Roma (although in the case of the experiences in the Swiss city and the Roman capital there were some good performances by the North African striker).

But there is no doubt that Salah's rise to prominence has been at Liverpool, where he was crowned last season's European champions following his team's victory in the final in Madrid against Tottenham Hotspur last year.

Before this success, his career had taken off in an extraordinary way thanks to a remarkable achievement, although it was not endorsed by his team's joint successes in the final stages of the season; he did not manage to win the English Premier League or the Champions League, and he was left on the brink, even with a European Cup final lost to Real Madrid CF in 2018. But the 2018-2019 campaign did bring with it the Champions League title, and even this 2019-2020 season (still unfinished due to the COVID-19 disease crisis) was going well with an outstanding leadership in the Premier League that could surely return the league title to Liverpool (who have not managed to do so for 30 years) once the remaining matches are restarted.

It is also worth noting that Salah has been the Premier League's top scorer in the last two seasons, and that he recently led Liverpool to three titles: the aforementioned Champions League, the European Super Cup and the Club World Cup.

These latest major successes for his team have finally accompanied Mohamed Salah's great personal performances, and have propelled him even higher up the world footballing ladder. He arrived in Liverpool from Rome in 2017 and since then, everything has improved in the career of the 'pharaoh', even playing for the coveted Golden Ball to the two great phenomena of the last decade: the Argentine Lionel Messi and Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo.

The glittering flash on the field has multiplied Mohamed Salah's market value and financial earnings, making him the fourth highest paid footballer in the world this year, and the only Arab on Forbes magazine's list of the world's top earners.

The Egyptian footballer was ranked 34th on the list of the world's highest paid athletes, according to Forbes, with a multi-year income of $35.1 million over the last 12 months, from June 1, 2019 to June 1, 2020.

Thanks to his important salary in Liverpool and his constant advertising appearances, Salah has been placed among the sportsmen with the highest income within the international concert, being the most important in this aspect if we stick to the Arab area.

Mohamed Salah is the player with the highest income in the Liverpool team and the fourth player who earns more in the world, only surpassed by Cristiano Ronaldo, player of Juventus, Lionel Messi, the star of FC Barcelona, and the Brazilian of Paris Saint Germain Neymar Jr, the great strut of Paris Saint-Germain together with the Frenchman Kylian Mbappé. The African striker has thus positioned himself as the only Arab in the list of the 100 highest income athletes.
