Morocco and Saudi Arabia confirm the quality of the relations that exist between the two nations under the wise mandate of the Sovereigns of the two Kingdoms. These ties give an optimistic glimpse of their consolidation at the economic level. Both Heads of State have expressed their unwavering commitment to further strengthen the economic partnership. In addition, they saw a need to raise the level of the aspirations of the two sides and the capacities at their disposal.

Talks between Saudi Arabian Trade Minister Majid bin Abdullah Al Qasabi and a number of Moroccan officials began with the sharing of interests, including cooperation, economic partnership and trade exchanges. The perspectives of both delegations showed the same symptoms of mutual interest. The main lines of dialogue focused on how to boost bilateral trade. Al Qasabi also met with the Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries, Mohammed Sadiki, with whom he shared his ideas on strengthening agriculture, farming, investment promotion and technical cooperation in terms of growth and desalination of palm trees.

The involvement of the business fabric in this dynamic, within the framework of a proactive logic, constitutes a decisive lever for the success of an alliance that generates wealth and employment. In this regard, Ryad Mezzour, Minister of Industry and Trade, invited Saudi operators to take advantage of the investment opportunities that abound in the Kingdom, in particular those available in the project bank, and to benefit from the support mechanisms available.

It was concluded that Morocco's main agricultural exports to Saudi Arabia would be citrus fruits, sugar, vegetables and fruits such as tomatoes, while the Saudis would mainly export biscuits and pasta.

During this meeting, two partnership agreements were signed. The first concerns a technical cooperation programme between the Moroccan Standards Institute and the Saudi Organisation for Standardisation, Metrology and Quality. This programme aims to develop exchanges of experience and information in the field of standardisation, as well as strengthening coordination between governmental bodies in this field.

The second agreement concerns the development of cooperation in the field of mutual recognition of halal certificates and local products, between the Kingdom of Morocco, represented by the Moroccan Institute for Standardisation (IMANOR), and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by Saudi Food and Drug (SFDA). The forum also aims to develop exchanges of experience and knowledge in the field of training, research and laboratory analysis of hala.yo products.

On the occasion of this meeting, the two sides welcomed the quality of political relations between the two countries, under the enlightened leadership of the Sovereigns of the two Kingdoms, and optimistically anticipate their consolidation on the economic front. This meeting is part of the consolidation and strengthening of bilateral relations between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and aims precisely to examine ways to facilitate and develop trade exchanges between the two countries, as well as to strengthen cooperation in various industrial fields.
