The Real Madrid Foundation and Millicom-TIGO have formalised their commitment to work together to develop social and sporting work in different Latin American countries and also in the United States.

Florentino Pérez, president of the Real Madrid club, and Mauricio Ramos, executive director of the Colombian division of Millicom, a company dedicated to fixed and mobile telephony with headquarters in Luxembourg and a presence in Latin America and Africa, met to formalise the agreement.

Thus, the Real Madrid Sports City was the setting for the launch of the agreement between Real Madrid and Millicom-TIGO, which has been planned for the next five years and which will serve to support the operation of 69 socio-sports projects of the Real Madrid Foundation in nine Latin American countries, such as Bolivia, Colombia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama and Paraguay, and in the United States, as reported on Real Madrid's own website.

Millicom, with more than 55 million customers in 10 countries in Latin America and Africa and with various community social commitments, has been operating since 1990, and now becomes a new global sponsor for the Real Madrid Foundation's socio-sports projects.

Thanks to this alliance with Millicom, more than 11,000 children will receive training, together with their families, in the responsible use of the internet and other digital tools, in order to avoid various problems arising from their misuse or unacceptable practices such as cyberbullying.

Mauricio Ramos highlighted the important value of this initiative: "This alliance is based on values that we share with Real Madrid to improve education and the future of children, because connectivity and football bring people together. Our commitment to build the digital highways that connect people, to improve their lives and help communities develop is tireless".

As noted on the club's website, the Real Madrid Foundation continues its strong commitment to the development of diverse work in the Americas. In fact, several other companies collaborate with the Foundation to develop various projects in the Americas, such as the Mapfre Foundation, Banco Mercantil Santa Cruz, AT&T, Banco Interamericano de Desarrollo, Globalvia and Kontiki Expeditions.

Meanwhile, the Foundation, in collaboration with local NGOs, provides comprehensive assistance to 22,000 children in America with education in values through sport, food, school reinforcement, etc.
