Regular service will be restored on 14 September if health conditions are adequate due to the coronavirus pandemic

Reopening of the Fátima Mernissi Library to the public

Library

The Three Cultures of the Mediterranean Foundation has reopened its library to the public, after it was closed on 13 March due to the health crisis caused by the COVID-19.

The spaces were conditioned and sanitized and a protocol was established to guarantee the safety of both users and library staff. Opening, which was initially restricted, was set for 17th June.

However, normal service will not be restored until after the summer period, on 14th September, if the situation allows it.

On-site service will resume on Wednesday 16 September after the library is closed for all purposes during the month of August.

It will be obligatory for the public to wear masks and to clean their hands with the hydroalcoholic gel, which will be available at the entrance to the library, as well as to maintain a safety distance of two metres between them and the library staff and other users. In order to guarantee the established social distance measures, the capacity of the room will be reduced to four places.

Loan and return services are provided on the above-mentioned days and times. The resources that are returned will be deposited in a separate place and separated from each other for fourteen days, as a preventive measure.

The Fátima Mernissi specialised library is a unique space in Andalusia due to the characteristics of its bibliographic and audiovisual collections. It was created with the aim of supporting the objectives of the Three Cultures of the Mediterranean Foundation, and is intended to be a useful tool for those who wish to learn about the diversity of the Mediterranean. At the same time, it is committed to the promotion of books and reading by means of an extensive cultural programme that includes book presentations, the Tres con Libros book club and the Tres Festival: voices of the Mediterranean literary festival.
