Atalayar_Santander

Following the success of the last edition of the Public Diplomacy and Cultural Cities Seminar, Santander will host a second edition on 4 June, organised by the Department of Culture and in coordination with the Academy of Diplomacy. This time, with the aim of building cultural bridges and boosting Santander's international presence in the implementation of cultural city projects, as well as promoting the network of connection between managers, creators and companies.

The Seminar was created under the direction of José María Peredo Pombo, Professor of Communication and International Politics at the European University of Madrid, and Javier Fernández Arribas, journalist, director of Atalayar and international politics analyst.

Santander continues to forge a path that aims to become a city of international reference in the current cultural and tourist offer. Following the implementation of various initiatives such as the Santander Bank's Pereda Project and the creation of the new Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of Santander and Cantabria, the city of Santander aims to establish itself as a cultural reference point with international support and validation.

The presentation will include several round tables with the participation of representatives of public institutions, writers and national and international journalists who will discuss the presence of representatives of local and private institutions involved in the Santander cultural project. The first round table will address the issue of shared cultural environments between Israel and Jewish cultural diversity, while the second will deal with the issue of Israel, intercultural policies and bridges.

In this edition, the literary field will be of particular relevance as a means of propagating various fields of culture. For this reason, there will be a table exclusively focused on Israeli literature with the presence of a delegation from the Israeli Embassy in Spain with the ambassador Rodica Radian-Gordon and the Israeli writer Eshkol Nevo, author of the novels 'Los amores solitarios' and 'Tres pisos'.
