Morocco's recent global achievements are not going unnoticed. Thanks to several economic factors, the Kingdom is beginning to develop an important role at the global level and many powers are echoing this. Switzerland, through the Geneva Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services (CCIS), has highlighted the importance of the North African nation in the world in one of its latest articles on its website.

In this article, the institution confirms that the Kingdom has positioned itself as a new emerging power in the world over the last twenty years. In the same way, they have also highlighted its enormous role as one of the only key players in Africa in the introduction of new international business in the continent.

"Thanks to its geographical location and political stability, the creation of ultra-modern infrastructures, the implementation of ambitious sectoral strategies, high-speed industrialisation, the development of green energies or the signing of several free trade agreements with the world's major economic players, Morocco offers a favourable environment for investment in different sectors," the CCIS article points out.

According to the Alpine organisation, the Maghreb country has committed itself to different industries that are marking its place in the world. These include aeronautics, automotive, textiles, agri-food and agrotechnology, electronics, tourism, information technology, and, above all, infrastructure and renewable energies.

Morocco is experiencing an incredible economic boom in these sectors. Countries from all over the world are beginning to invest in the Kingdom through this, as the nation offers a series of very attractive tax advantages for investment, which also serve as a gateway to the African market. Consequently, in recent years, a number of international companies have set up in various parts of the country where they are reaping huge economic benefits.

The impeccable management of the coronavirus pandemic in the Alawi kingdom was also highlighted. The Moroccan government, during these two years, has managed to maintain the national economy despite the inconveniences caused by the virus. "Despite the impact of the health crisis, the main financial institutions are confident in the capacity of the Moroccan economy to maintain steady growth in the coming years, as well as in its vocation as a regional and international centre," says the CCIS.

In addition, an event called "Market Focus: Morocco" will take place next week in Geneva. The aim of this event will be to open up Morocco to the international market with the aim of raising awareness of the investment opportunities it offers. The aim is to attract Swiss companies to the Kingdom, taking advantage of its potential as a centre for trade and investment in Africa. "It is a market with an important source of growth," the website says. They also remind Swiss firms that, if they want to reach Africa, they must first start in Morocco to achieve their goal.

Thanks to the free trade agreement between Morocco and Switzerland, business opportunities are being targeted and considerable growth in cooperation is being shown. Likewise, the Kingdom is also increasingly strengthening its diplomatic strategy with new international partners for joint cooperation. Right now, Morocco is Switzerland's third largest trading partner in the formation of new treaties and new partnerships.

"Today, more than fifty Swiss companies are already established in Morocco, operating in particular in the agri-food sector, the chemical and pharmaceutical industries, but also in the field of electronic devices," said the Swiss ambassador in Rabat, Guillaume Scheurer after the EFTA congress (EFTA-Morocco Free Trade Agreement).

The CCIS also confirms that the two countries are promoting other types of agreements in sectors related to energy and transport. In addition to these, several talks are already underway between senior officials of the two countries to initiate cooperation projects in the field of sustainable tourism.
