The director of the Fundación Tres Culturas del Mediterráneo, Concha de Santa Ana, and Juan Antonio Barrionuevo Fernández, Deputy Mayor for Youth and Development Cooperation Delegation of the Seville City Council, have signed a collaboration agreement to carry out a series of activities within the framework of the project 'Seville, land of diversity'.
The objective of this agreement is "to generate spaces for intercultural coexistence in the city of Seville through the development of cultural and artistic expressions of the neighboring towns of the South of the Mediterranean." In this way, the Tres Culturas Foundation and the Seville City Council undertake to develop joint actions such as the film series that will be scheduled in September and November, dedicated to Sephardic culture and Morocco, respectively.
Concerts are also contemplated to reinforce the knowledge of the Sevillian citizenship of Mediterranean musical rhythms, among which are klezmer, Andalusian or popular chaabi music and the mystical music of the Turkish dervishes.
The agreement also refers to other important lines of action of this Foundation, such as children's activities or the Tres Culturas Passport, an exchange and training program for young people that promotes the values of interculturality.
With all this, the Fundación Tres Culturas and the Hispalense City Council, which contributes 25,000 euros to the promotion of these activities, intend to join forces to eliminate stereotypes and clichés associated with the different cultures that coexist in Seville, giving value to the wealth that diversity contributes to our society.
