Some of the main television stations in the United States, such as ABC, CBS and NBC, cut in unison President Donald Trump's speech in prime time, while Fox News, the news reference of the Republican Party, denied his words.

The break in the conservative news channel is getting deeper every time Trump repeats his accusations of election fraud.

"We haven't seen anything that constitutes fraud or abuse of the system," said White House correspondent for Fox News John Roberts, speaking live from the same newsroom where the president had spoken seconds earlier.

On the news set in New York, the presenters were repeating over and over again. "We haven't seen any evidence.

Hours later, on evening talk shows, Fox News anchor Laura Ingraham made a U-turn and questioned in an editorial whether the vote by mail should be counted, saying that "America should know the winner on election night or the next morning.

The same station, the most watched pay TV news channel, took on a lot of tension on Tuesday election night after declaring Trump's rival, Democrat Joe Biden, the winner of Arizona before any other media had done so.

The difference in criteria in Fox News' programming reflects the informational tension between journalists from a company that has to decide between continuing to support the drift of Trump's speech or verifying his accusations against the electoral system.

Three major networks cut Trump

Meanwhile, the three major free-to-air broadcasters - NBC, ABC and CBS - cut off and strongly disproved Trump's live speech.

"We have to interrupt Trump because the president has made a series of false claims," said live journalist Lester Holt, host of NBC Nightly News, one of the three most followed news programs on free television.

So did David Muir, the host of the most watched news show in the country with 8 million viewers daily, the ABC World News Tonight.

"There is simply no proof in any of these states that illegal votes exist," he said.

The journalist went on to explain that because of the coronavirus pandemic, voting by mail had increased by breaking records, more than 100 million Americans voted early, and that prolonged the count.

CBS, third in the audience, began a data check as Trump finished his speech, and denied all his accusations of "fraud" and "system corruption.

More forceful were the news services of the American public radio, NPR, in pointing out that "Trump again falsely claimed victory in the 2020 election. He has not won. The votes are still being counted.

For their part, the pay TV news channels CNN and MSNBC, known for their more liberal positions, spoke harshly: "What a sad night for America.

"Trying to attack democracy with their party of falsehoods. Lie after lie after lie," a remorseful host Jake Tapper said on the screen.

On CNN's program, Rick Santorum, a Trump party talk show host and former senator, declared himself "impressed" and "disappointed" after hearing the president.

Majority Media Turns Its Back on Trump

Virtually no mainstream media has corroborated the allegations of election fraud made by the Trump campaign.

"Trump has said without evidence that the election was corrupt and fraudulent," published Nicole Carroll, the editor of USA Today, one of the most widely read generalist newspapers in the United States.

The Washington Post, The New York Times and Los Angeles Times also denied the president.

Likewise, the courts in Georgia and Michigan have also dismissed the first lawsuits filed by Trump, who in the media depends on support from Fox News, which is falling, and from the "alternative" media that has emerged in social networks.
