FICRT and Pueblos Unidos offer a workshop in Islamic Geometry

Fundación FICRT and Pueblos Unidos are jointly organising a workshop on Islamic Geometry, which will take place on 28 November. The activity is free, will last two hours and will begin with a historical introduction to Andalusian geometric art and then develop the design. Participants do not need to have any previous knowledge and will be provided with all the necessary materials.

Islamic geometric designs have been used for centuries to decorate mosques, palaces and all kinds of elements. Behind their geometric forms lie complex mathematics, a unique concept of beauty and the mythical religious worldview of an entire civilisation.

These intricate designs, which can be created with the help of tools as simple as a compass and a ruler, are based on the superimposition of circles and squares, which are repeated and connected to create highly complex graphics.

Due to the interest aroused by this artistic manifestation, the FICRT Foundation and Pueblos Unidos are jointly organising a workshop dedicated to Islamic Geometry, which will be given by the organisation Sexto Mario.

The workshop will be held in Madrid on 28 November at 6 p.m. at the Espacio Interreligioso Pueblos Unidos (C/ Geranios, 30 - Metro Ventilla).

Due to the limited number of places available, it is essential to register in advance, which can be done through this link. The organisation will confirm your place in the workshop to applicants by email. Places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
