After two years of flight restrictions, the Spanish consultancy NI HAO CONECTA (NHC) has led a business mission to Hong Kong to meet and discuss with top representatives of business groups, investment funds and family-offices the various opportunities and investment interest in Spain and Latin America.

In what is the first of these missions following the end of the Covid restrictions, the agenda in Hong Kong, a former British colony and financial centre of southeast China, included meetings with chairmen of major Asian groups and investment funds. In total, more than 60 meetings with senior executives from public and private companies operating in a wide variety of fields: Tourism, Infrastructure, Agri-Food and Real Estate, among other sectors interested in the Spanish and Latin markets

From Madrid, Laura González Escallada, president of NI HAO CONECTA and from Beijing, Wenjun Chen, advisor of the firm, have led this first mission after the end of the travel restrictions to China, and which precedes the future meetings that will take place during the year 2023 with the main objective of promoting the economy of Spain and Latin America in the Asian giant.

"In the last two years, we have worked hard to establish a solid and direct link between China and Latin America with Spain at the core. Now that we can finally meet in person, we can see that the interest in the Spanish market is more than visible," says Laura González.

In addition, during the trip, NHC organised a business meeting with great success under the title "Hong Kong - Madrid: Opportunities and Investment", held at the Marco Polo Hotel, in the heart of the city. The event consisted of an exhibition and presentation of the main investment opportunities in Spain. At the end of the event, attendees were able to enjoy a cocktail sponsored by Spanish food and beverage brands with presence and representation in Asia.

Giants such as China Tourism Group, China Travel Service, DeHeng Law Offices, Cainiao Smart Gateway, The Hong Kong Chinese Enterprises Association, Sunwah Group, Headdor, CRRC, United Overseas Bank China or New Huo Asset Management are some of the entities within the NI HAO CONECTA network that have taken part in the first post-pandemic trip and showed interest in the Spanish and Latin markets
