It expands its strength in the field of secure tactical communications in land, naval and air mobility environments

Grupo Oesía consolidates its communications capabilities and positions itself as a benchmark in the market after acquiring Grupo CPS

Grupo Oesía

Grupo Oesía, a Spanish multinational company dedicated to technological and digital engineering and one of the main technological suppliers of the Spanish defence sector through its brand Tecnobit-Grupo Oesía, consolidates its position as a leading player in the field of Communications after the acquisition of the satellite terminal company INSTER from Grupo CPS.

The Spanish multinational adds INSTER to the group of companies and high performance centres that already form a benchmark company. The purchase takes place within the framework of a joint business plan with a horizon of 2025, when the operation will be completed.

This acquisition represents a commitment to the development and growth of INSTER's business and technological project, ensuring its viability through the investment in capital, the contribution of capabilities and the solid market presence of Tecnobit-Oesia Group in the Defence, Aeronautics, Space and Security sector, where it collaborates with large companies and programmes, both national and international. All this with the firm commitment, without any fissure, to guarantee the success of the projects and commitments acquired with its clients, and the strengthening of its capacities in the technological and commercial fields.

INSTER complements and completes these capabilities with its specialisation in the development of technology for terrestrial, naval and aerial satellite communications; mobility applications in the military environment and high-capacity wireless access for telecommunications operators.

In the words of Luis Furnells Abaunz, executive president of Grupo Oesía: "INSTER joins the group of innovation and high technological performance centres of Grupo Oesía that are contributing to our country's increasing national sovereignty in terms of Security and Defence. This integration boosts the export potential of Spanish technology and reinforces our competitive capacity for future national and international programmes".

For his part, Cándido Comino Chavarrías, President of Grupo CPS, commented: "We can only feel immense pride in the leadership, knowledge and high commitment of a high performance team that, with our support in recent years, has allowed us to materialise this operation, which enhances and multiplies the potential of Spanish technology in the most strategic markets, recognising Grupo Oesía as the best possible travelling companion".

The integration boosts the export potential of Tecnobit-Grupo Oesía, whose developments are in countries such as the USA, Japan, Germany, Holland, Australia, UAE or Bangladesh; and reinforces the competitive dimension present in its capacities and developments. We are referring to Communication Links -radio, modem and SATCOM-; Tactical Communications Processors; Communications Securisation -cifra and cybersecurity-; Cross domain solutions and Quantum Communications, with QKD and the quantum router.

All these competencies will be key in major national and international programmes, where the Spanish multinational is already present. Some examples include Spainsat 2 in the space sector; in terrestrial communications, programmes and modernisations for Military Emergency Unit (UME) vehicles, where INSTER's satellite terminals are already operating; and in the aeronautical field, the UAV programmes, with the Eurodron, a programme in which Grupo Oesía has already committed more than 50 MIO€ and the future SIRTAP; the fixed-wing programmes, with the C295 for Maritime Patrol and the A400M; and in the rotary wing programmes, the TIGRE.
