The Instituto Cervantes will present in two webinars the 'Official Manual for the preparation of the SIELE' (Servicio Internacional de Evaluación de la Lengua Española), the only official material for the preparation of these Spanish language proficiency certification exams. The online seminars will be held on 27 and 28 April (at 6 p.m. and 9 a.m. respectively).

Created and developed in collaboration with the National University of Mexico, the University of Salamanca and the University of Buenos Aires, it is published by Edinumen and has a digital extension managed by the same company as the real exam: Telefónica Educación Digital.

This manual, the only one produced by the creators of the exam themselves, aims to facilitate the preparation of the exam for both candidates and teachers and preparers, which has led to the development of two different editions.

In addition to tips and strategies for successfully taking the exam, the handbook includes a presentation of the exam and each of its tests, proposes different activities and sample tasks, shows how the SIELE portal works, and explains the marking scales for the "Written expression and interaction" and "Oral expression and interaction" tests. The handbook includes a model test paper and a model test paper to answer.

The publication also includes an access code to the digital extension that allows users to carry out real training with two SIELE models on the very platform where they will take the exam, which allows for greater familiarisation with the digital environment.

SIELE Certification

The international SIELE exam (Servicio Internacional de Evaluación de Lengua Española) is an exam developed by four world-renowned entities and certifies the level of proficiency in the Spanish language. It is a multi-level, pan-Hispanic and digital exam which, through different tests and tasks, places candidates at one of the five levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) A1, A2, B1, B2 and C1.

It is a flexible and adaptable certification as it can be taken as a whole (SIELE Global) or by test and a level certification is always obtained. It is administered in more than 1,600 SIELE-accredited test centres around the world, in pre-established appointments, which allows for great administrative flexibility and speed in the qualification, with results ready in a maximum of three weeks. SIELE is also the first certification system to obtain the SICELE quality seal.
