The Forum of Presidents of the Legislative Powers of Central America and the Caribbean Basin (Foprel) and the Moroccan Parliament today signed a cooperation agreement on migration policies, e-commerce and sustainability.
The agreement was initialled during the XXVI extraordinary meeting of Foprel which opened today in Rabat, during which the organisation awarded its highest decoration, the Esquipulas Peace Prize, to the Moroccan King Mohamed VI for his "wisdom and courage, which led him to raise the flag of the common interest to set aside differences and fight constantly for peace between peoples".
It was signed by the current president of the forum, Ernesto Alfredo Castro Aldana, and the presidents of the two chambers of the Moroccan Parliament, Rachid Talbi Alami (House of Representatives) and Naama Mayara (House of Councillors).

The text also promotes cooperation between the parties on sustainability policies in the areas of access to drinking water, reuse of treated wastewater, renewable energies and protection of the environment and natural resources.
The agreement also encourages joint research and training in legislative matters, the exchange of information on issues related to the legislative agenda and the establishment of institutional modernisation programmes.
