Russian missile hits chef José Andrés' NGO train in Ukraine

A Russian missile hit the train of Spanish chef José Andrés' humanitarian organisation World Central Kitchen (WCK) in eastern Ukraine on Wednesday, according to the chef himself on his Twitter account.

In his message, accompanied by a photo of the destruction caused by the missile, José Andrés pointed out that no one was injured in the incident, and explained that the missile hit a wagon full of food, which has now been lost, but that the food in the rest of the wagons can be recovered.

"This will not stop our fantastic WCK teams in Ukraine, who will continue to feed the people", stressed José Andrés in this message in which he regretted that the Russians are attacking "harshly" the railway infrastructures of Ukraine.

Since the beginning of the war in Ukraine, World Central Kitchen has been working in that country to bring food to its citizens and distributes thousands of rations every day in different parts of the country.

On 16 April, a Russian missile hit a facility used by the NGO, injuring four people in the eastern Ukrainian city of Kharkov.
