The Secretary of State for Defence, María Amparo Valcarce, visited the Tecnobit-Grupo Oesía Technology Centre in Valdepeñas, Ciudad Real.

This meeting took place within the general framework of the promotion of the Defence Industrial Strategy. In a scenario in which, as stated by the Ministry of Defence, it is necessary to define strategic objectives that maximise the return on this investment and promote an industrial defence policy that generates employment and territorial cohesion, develops dual technological capabilities and boosts investment in R&D&I while providing certainty and visibility to companies in the sector.

The aim of the visit is to show first-hand the development and production of highly qualified technology for the national and international defence and security industry.

The Secretary of State was received by the executive president of the Oesía Group, Luis Furnells, and the management team of the Technology Centre. The Mayor of Valdepeñas, Jesús Martín, was also present throughout the visit.

The delegation made a complete tour of the factory facilities, which represents a pole of technological innovation that helps to provide national sovereignty in key capabilities, contributing to the strategic autonomy of Europe and the Spanish Armed Forces, through the contribution of a team of highly qualified professionals, offering the region quality jobs and economic growth.

From the Technology Centre in Valdepeñas, Tecnobit-Oesia Group produces on-board electronic engineering solutions for space, air, land and maritime platforms, in areas such as optronics, displays, IRST, encrypted, tactical and secure communications and satellite communications. Complete solutions are developed for the most important national and European defence programmes, such as the NGWS/FCAS, the Eurodrone, the F110 frigate or the national on-board cipher, among others.
