The dance show 'Gran Bolero', winner of the MAX Award (Spanish National Performing Arts Award) for Best Dance Production in 2020, will take place at the Millennium Amphitheatre in Dubai on the 8th at 19:00 and 9th at 20:00.

Co-produced by Spain's two most important dance houses, Madrid's Teatros del Canal and Barcelona's Mercat de les Flors, Gran Bolero takes us to a new dimension of Ravel's famous composition. It is a work about effort and the pleasure of endurance; a stubborn choreography about the fine line between enjoyment and exhaustion, a dance to celebrate the time and space we share.

The choreography brings together six dancers from Madrid and six from Barcelona to dedicate themselves to dance and revisit a musical score composed by Ravel in 1928 as an orchestral transcription of a traditional Spanish dance.

Gran Bolero premiered at the Teatros del Canal (Madrid) in April 2019. Since then, the show has been presented in several theatres and festivals all over Europe such as the Mercat de les Flors in Barcelona, the Teatro Principal in Valencia, the Gran Teatro Falla in Cádiz, the Teatro Vascello (Romaeuropa Festival, Italy) or the International Theatre of Amsterdam (opening the Brandhaarden Festival 2020).

When: 8 January, 7pm, and 9 January, 8pm.

Where: Dubai Millennium Amphitheatre.
