The specialised Fatima Mernissi Library is a unique space in Andalusia due to the characteristics of its bibliographic and audiovisual collections. It was created in 2007 with the aim of being an instrument to support the objectives of the Three Cultures Foundation as well as a useful tool for those who wish to learn about the diversity of the Mediterranean.

Since its beginnings, it has worked to reinvent the concept of a specialised library and currently has more than twelve thousand bibliographic collections, as well as a complete media library that provides its users with more than a thousand references to enjoy Mediterranean musical and cinematographic production.

Its specialised staff provides a service to a wide range of users, from researchers who require specific attention to individuals seeking to learn more about the Mediterranean. In short, it is a multifunctional space where all kinds of facilities, as well as friendly and personalised attention, are offered to anyone who wishes to learn more about Mediterranean literature, music and film.

At the same time, the Three Cultures Foundation, through its Library, is firmly committed to the promotion of books and reading through an extensive cultural programme, which includes book presentations, the Tres con libros book club in its different variants and the literary festival Tres Festival: voces del Mediterráneo, among many other activities.

In 2016, the Three Cultures Foundation renamed its specialised library the Fatima Mernissi Library in posthumous recognition of the figure and legacy of this renowned Moroccan sociologist, writer and feminist.

Opening hours:

Monday to Friday, from 9.30 am to 1.30 pm.

From 1 August to 2 September the library will be closed.

The Fatima Mernissi library is offering a special summer loan, extending both the number of items that can be checked out and the return period. Users visiting the library will be able to take a maximum of four copies and return them until 5 September 2022.
